By the end of the secondary stage and within the assigned structures and vocabulary for this stage students should be able to do the following :
1-Use English language structures and analyze them to understand the relationships among them
2-Learn the assigned vocabulary ,idioms ,and expressions and understand their meanings in context
3- Acquire the ability to listen to comprehend English language and to distinguish between diffrent intonations
4- Participate in conversations and discussions using proper English
5- Acquire the ability to read and comprehend English texts through different reading types (i.e. loud reading) and reading strategies (i.e. scanning, pleasure and reading for all understanding
6- Write a free-essay of three paragraphs using correct English
7- Translate English text into Arabic and vise versa
8-Realize the importance of English in the local job market
9- Be aware of the importance of English as an international language of communication for introducing Islam ,our culture ,and our cultural achievements to others
10- Be aware of the importance of English as an international language of communication for benfiting from achievements to others cultures in accordance with Islamic teaching ;through texts representing various life situations
11- Gain a reasonable command of English in orderto be in a better position to defend Islam against adverse criticism and to participate in the dissemination of Islamic culture .
الأهدف العامة لتدريس اللغة الإنجليزية في نظام المقررات General Objective of Teaching English in Intermediate Stage :
- Learn the basics of the English language that would form the foundation for its mastery in the future.
- Use the basic structures of English sentences.
- Learn the core vocabulary assigned for this stage.
- Listen and understand simple English language.
- Express themselves orally using simple English language.
- Read and understand simple written English language materials.
- Write simple guided sentences in English language.
- Appreciate the importance of English language as an international language of communication, for introducing Islam, the Islamic nation’s culture and the cultural achievements of Muslims to other nations.
- Appreciate the importance of English language as an international language of communication to benefit from the achievements of other cultures in accordance with Islam.

Unit Summary:
This unit talking about changes which have happened in the world, talking about global issues , learning vocabulary about changes in the world and global issues, use simple present, progressive,/simple past and present perfect and writing about recent changes in your country.
Stage 1: Identify Desired Results:

To stress for important words in sentences.

Quick Check
A Vocabulary Tell students there are eight words relate to temperature. Have students find the words in pairs.

Procedure
- Greet the students.
- Revise the previous lesson and check the homework.
- Write the date and the title on the board.

1- Listen &discuss:
- Have students look at the pictures on page 2. Ask: What is the difference between the two groups of pictures?
- Elicit: free-time activities and chores. Ask: What are chores? (Things you have to do around the house.) How many of the pictures show people having a good time? (four) How many show people doing chores? (six)
2- Pair work:
- Have two students read aloud the first conversation.
- Then model the conversation with a student.
- You make a new suggestion; for example, Let’s play tennis.
- The student should respond to your suggestion.
- Then do the same with the second conversation.
Have students practice in pairs, switching roles for both conversations, and substituting free-time activities.

- The approach: is to help learners to know where the unit will go, and what is expected of them, and the level of performance required of them to achieve the stated results.
- Introductory activities: activities designed attractively and variably (listening, speaking, reading, writing) to encourage learners to reflect on and analyze the different ways of using pictures and examples to express future plans and use future expressions and make conversations using them.
- Educational and learning activities: training learners on the skills of grammar, spelling, and structures of language through classroom activities and home to follow up these activities to make sure of their ability to express future plans. We engage students in self-evaluation, goal setting, and self-reflection. We have to focus on basic questions continuity before the learners to gauge their understanding of it. I ask the students the following questions: (What kind of clothes do you like to wear? What clothes do I need to buy for (a place) in (a season)? And, etc.).
- Assigned learners to do the performance tasks: Learners carry out tasks according to the standards, and present their works on.
